Every one of them operates under Dubai Municipality hygiene requirements: SDS in English and Arabic for every chemical, surfaces disinfected between animals, and proper documentation on-site. Dubai Municipality regulates pet grooming salons and veterinary clinics for hygiene compliance. Veterinary clinics are additionally licensed through DM's Veterinary Services Section. Both types of premises are subject to hygiene inspections.
The primary between-animal disinfectant for grooming tables, tubs, restraint loops, clippers and scissors. Spray on cleared surface, observe contact time per SDS, wipe or air dry. Apply only when animal is off the surface. Quat and alcohol-based.
For grooming area floor, waiting room and pet-accessible areas. 60ml per 5L bucket. Antibacterial on every mop cycle. Hair, mud and paw debris accumulate rapidly — mop at least twice daily in active grooming salons.
For reception counter, product retail shelving, cages, kennels (when empty), door handles and general surfaces. Diluted 1:20. Allow cages and kennels to dry completely before returning animals.
For grooming tubs, hydrotherapy areas and wash-down areas. Removes pet hair buildup, soap scum and Dubai hard water limescale from tub surfaces and drain areas. Apply, scrub, rinse thoroughly before next animal.
At every grooming station and at reception. Groomers sanitize hands between each animal and after handling chemicals. DM expects visible hand hygiene in all commercial premises. 5L bulk for wall-mounted dispensers.
The grooming table is the highest-risk cross-contamination surface in any pet grooming salon. This is the protocol that protects against ringworm, parvo, kennel cough and other transmissible conditions.
Remove the animal from the table. Dry-brush or towel off visible hair, pet dander and debris from the table surface before applying any chemical.
Spray disinfectant on the table surface, restraint attachments and any contact areas. Cover the full surface evenly.
Allow the SDS contact time — typically 30–60 seconds for VT-DS-002 spray application. Do not wipe immediately if the SDS specifies a dwell time.
Wipe with a clean cloth or allow to air dry. Surface must be fully dry before the next animal is placed on it.
Clippers, scissors and combs: spray with VT-DS-002 or immerse in solution between animals. Same contact time applies. Hair should be brushed off tools before disinfection.
Groomer applies VT-DS-003 hand sanitizer gel before handling the next animal. 1.5–2ml, rub all surfaces until dry.
